The Sydnee Chronicles. Volume 1

Little miss Sassy has had a few exciting weeks lately....

I'm lucky that this story happened while Ry was taking pictures with my phone.

Sydnee and I were sitting on the couch talking to each other and we happened to scrunch our noses at each other at the same time. Ryan commented at how similar we are, especially the faces we make. Sydnee and I disagreed, so we turned to him and promptly did this....

He started laughing then told us we had the same smile...

Then he said we had the same nose, so we covered up our noses. Then he said we still had the same ears, so Sydnee covered up her ears...

He said it didn't matter cause now we looked really silly....

Sydnee's response was to uncover her ears and say "WHAT DID HE SAY?"

Poor Sass had a scary adventure last week. On Saturday she was complaining that her eye hurt and that evening her eye was pink and gunky. So I assumed she had the start of pink eye. On Sunday she and I stayed home from church and while she was laying on the couch within 5 minutes her eye started doing this...

She had 3 large blood spots appear on her sclera and they were spreading. I have never seen anything like it so we rushed to Urgent Care.
The Dr was completely baffled and called the Opthamologist on call to insist he open up his office on a Sunday and see her. The he brought multiple other Nurses in to see her eye since he had never seen it before.
We met the opthamologist in the parking lot and he checked her out. Her vision in the right eye has 3 large hemorrhages and some slight vision damage. The Dr diagnosed hemorrhagic Adenovirus, also known as Apollo's Disease. The only treatment is time to wait for the body to fight off the virus and for the bruising to go away.
The most amazing part???? IT DOESN'T HURT!!! It looks so painful but she insists it doesn't hurt, and she's fascinated by it she's always looking in a mirror to see it.

But by Monday it had all blended together (which the Dr told me would happen) And she looked even worse!!!

Poor girl, I'm lucky that she didn't have school all Thanksgiving week so she didn't have to miss any school because I was worried other kids would make fun of her. Because even my family started calling her zombie eye. It did look really scary and it's taken over a week to start clearing up.
She's such a little trooper and she doesn't even seem to notice it. I love you Sass!
Something good.... The BEST Harry Potter movie! I LOVED that it actually followed the book!

Oh where oh where is my program???

I remember the first time I ever saw Picture It.... Sydnee was 5 months old and I was at Fawn's house and we were playing on her computer. This photo editing software was unlike anything I had ever seen. I could airbrush and color, switch heads, play with the coloring..... Unheard of editing software at that time. (Wow that makes me sound like I'm talking about walking uphill in the snow to school)

Christian (Fawn's son) and Sydnee were laying on the bed and Fawn and I were so engrossed with this program over the next few days that there was a moment when Sydnee rolled off the bed (Way to go K, Mother of the Year)

I had to have it! This incredible program that I became addicted to! That program lasted through 7 computers! Honestly and that's just me, I don't know how many times Fawn downloaded it herself. There became 1 treasured disk that was passed between states and different people. My computer crashed a few weeks ago and now I have Ry's laptop, but when I went to pull out the amazing disk IT WASN'T THERE!!! I have torn apart my house and it seems to have gone to the program graveyard :(

This means I have not edited pictures in months, because I didn't know how to even begin to move on. I've heard of Picnik, some people swear by it, some don't see what the big deal is about. But after I received my wedding pictures and Halloween I knew it was time to get back on the horse and start dating new editing software. So I paid for 1 month of Picnik (because I don't like to commit easily, just ask Ry) and I've been playing.

The verdict.... there are some really great features and it's still lacking what Picture It could do for me. But for now I can at least use some of the features I like and continue searching for the other features I am missing. So Picnik and I are dating but not exclusive. So if anyone has something in mind, that's special something that makes you happy and is available there is a Married, Mother of two who enjoys late night editing obsessively and is looking for an open relationship.

One thing I do like is the numerous texts available.... and the collages are easy to use, even if I can't resize my pics in the collage

And a look back at only 2 of numerous incredible pictures that Picture It gave to me. I'm going to have program abandonment issues

Something Good.... I haven't found it yet, but I'm going to keep checking Ebay every day until SOMEONE SOMEWHERE sells their copy of that incredible disk. EBAY ROCKS!!!

Giggle from Beckham...Volume 1

Beckham is at the age where he says the FUNNIEST things! I thought that since I was his Mommy I just overly thought he was so funny and clever! But yesterday when I picked him up from Sundbeams at church his teachers said the same things, and many people crack up at the things this little boy says. So since this is kinda my family blog I decided to start a recurring segment dedicated to his moments that make me giggle!

The Primary program was a few weeks ago and even though Beckham didn't sing and played the whole time I guess he did learn something.

My Mom had taken him to the park and they were playing inside some big tubes, Nana turned to Beckham and said let's play follow the leader....

Beckham turned to her and said "NO Nana, It's FOLLOW THE PROPHET!"

Well at least I'm teaching him right.
Something good.... My new favorite thing he says after watching Toy Story 3.... "Omeo Omeo nananana Omeo?" My 3 year old quotes Shakespeare!

Happy Halloween 2010

Halloween is one of my favorite months. I love the decorations, the smells, the costumes! We had a really fun month; Pumpkin patch, Ward Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treating, and the weather was actually nice. No snow, unheard of for Colorado! The best way I can describe how much fun we had is through amazing pictures.

These are chronologically backwards but oh well...

Sydnee was a Renaissance Princess. Her favorite part was getting to wear make-up. She was so pretty!

Have to LOVE her pink sneakers! Cinderella could've run faster if she had these on

I told her to act like a Queen...

AArrgh! This be Jack Beckham Sparrow! An he be a swashbuckling pirate

A lot of people didn't even recognize him, until he started talking

Yohoho! He even talked like a pirate for days! And called himself Jack Sparrow

The pirate is holding the beautiful princess hostage!

Baby Morgan (Lisa's baby girl) is adorable! I LOVED taking these pictures! She is one of my frequent photography subject

Bright blue eyes

How absolutely adorable is this?

Sydnee, Beckham, Morgan, Ryan (the robot) and Gavin (the grapes) sitting on the front porch for our annual before trick or treating picture

At our Ward Trunk or Treat. Beckham Loved the haunted house!

Sydnee's Fall Party at school

Primary Program at church. Sydnee memorized all her parts and sang every song perfectly! Beckham provided percussion with his buttons on his jacket banging in tempo with every song! The best part was when Becks and the other Sunbeams walked around the chapel holding pictures of the Prophets during the Follow the Prophet song! It was so adorable!!!

The Pumpkin Patch! It's a tradition that we go every year with the Lewis Family. (Although let's be honest I do everything with the Lewis Family)

Pumpkin baby Morgan and her Mommy Lisa

Ry took all the kids on a hayride

We kept telling the kids to put the pumpkins they found into a pile, they found a lot of pumpkins

Charming Becks. This picture is totally his Daddy's face!

Beckham and Gavin, they are always mischievous when they're together

Sassy with her pumpkin

Handsome boy

My babies are actually great friends! I pray it stays that way!

The kid crew; Gavin, Sydnee, Ryan, and Becks

Something good......Twix bars in endless supply!
