SPRING BREAK!

WOW! What a week! I'm exhausted and need a week off from our vacation. We packed so many things into 5 days (I worked Monday and Tuesday)

First thing??? PIZZA! Krystal and her kids came over on Wednesday for a pizza lunch from my favorite place Louie's. When I was pregnant with both kids I CRAVED Marchelloni's nuggets. Especially since I used to work there in high school. So being stuck in Colorado while I was pregnant with Beckham meant no nuggets for me, plus Marchelloni's has closed in AZ (sniff sniff) I was in physical therapy when I was pregnant since my sciatic nerve was so messed up. And while laying on the table I heard the therapist talking with a coworker about Louie's cheese bread. I begged for information cause it sounded like nuggets! They're almost as good but nothing can beat the original! But either way, Louie's Pizza is my go to pizza place.

Well we stopped in Target to get some snacks since I have problems remembering to get groceries until we're down to eating dry cereal. Well they saw a bag of Cheetos and begged for them, but just down the aisle I saw the heaven's reflect onto a glorious product... and it was on sale! The kids and I decided to throw all caution to the wind! Sydnee told me I was officially her hero

We haven't even put a dent in this thing but it makes me giggle every time I see it in the pantry

Sydnee has discovered how to work Netflix on the Wii, and the kids have declared their new favorite show; The Pink Panther. We've all been singing the theme song all week This is where Beckham happened to lay himself to watch it


Sydnee always says Beckham has an indestrucible head.

First there was the time he bashed his head into the door frame at Church and required stitches so I no longer could see his skull. Within the past few weeks Beckham has bruised that EXACT spot on his head twice, he tripped and hit the computer monitor that was on the floor, then he hit a door knob at my parent's house. Well on Wednesday while cleaning the house Beckham tripped on the puppies bed and hit his head on the window ledge He fell down and started screaming and I had a flashback to that exact moment except this time when he raised his head there wasn't blood gushing everywhere. WHEW!!

You can see the old scar and the new one is crossing it. Hey, maybe if he trips on his shoelaces he could have a Harry Potter lightning scar??? And it became another huge bruise!

We had some fun with nerf guns this week, guess who was the most frequent target? I didn't even do it! But when Ryan tries to shoot me Beckham decided he must protect his Mommy and never relents


On Thursday we went up to The Denver Museum of Nature and Science because they most recent exhibit is about PIRATES! (Beckham is OBSESSED with Pirates)

The exhibit was great! The kids really loved it. But you can't take pictures during, but everyone got hats at the end.

This week was the start of pictures of Becks with his eyes closed, and sadly there were a few poses where I didn't get a pic of his eyes open

I spent the rest of the weekend with Lisa. She was on-call for work and her hubby Chad was fourwheeling in Moab so the kids, puppies and I stayed the night and we all played! I miss spending weekends at the Lewis' house

This is how you entertain 3 kids in Kohl's who are all hungry and super hyper! Give them a cart and then pretend you don't know them while they are running around crazy!

Unfortunately Lisa got called in to work at 5am. Which left me ALONE with 5 children under the age of 8 and the youngest being 9 months old. And two little needy puppies...

THANK goodness it was such a nice day! I fed them breakfast then kicked the older 4 outside and got to play with little princess Morgan!

How could anyone ever get to take a shower if they had 5 kids? I barely remembered to brush my teeth, but I never even got dressed!

Of course there are always a few wounds when you let kids run wild. Sydnee scrapped her knee. And me being the Mommy I am, decided to find the toy chainsaw and tell Sydnee we were going to have to amputate!

She's a good sport!

On Sunday we all ended up on the couch watching Jane Austen movies.... well the girls were watching. The boys both passed out

My sister Kadi and her new huband Jayke came over for dinner and roasting marshmellows.

Kadi and Ryan decided to make up bizarre marshmellow combinations. Brownies inside, coconut creme chocolate... they decided their favorite was strawberry milkshake whoppers inside a toasted marshmellow.

Something good.... I'm applying for my Bachelor's program! I hope it doesn't take too long to hear

Another one bites the dust

My youngest sister Kadi got married last weekend. She married Jaykob Owens, he's in the Army and is set to be deployed to Afghanistan in May. It was a really cute wedding. Sydnee was a flower girl and Beckham was the ring bearer. We had a lot of family come into town and had an entire weekend together, I always feel like when a lot of people get together most of the time revolves around food.

Beckham did really well. He was super cute, he walked up the aisle with the pillow then tried to give the pillow to "Uncle Jayk"


He's such a stud, he spent most of the day finding sticks in the forest

Beckham is always really cuddly with family during events with a lot of people. I noticed when I looked at my camera every other picture was of Beckham giving hugs

During the ceremony Jayk said "I do" 3 times before President Woodward read the entire vows. It was really cute! At the end he said "I do....again."

During the garter toss, the best man took off his shoes and we blindfolded Jayk so he was feeling up the bestman looking for the garter. It was hilarious!

HAHA!!! Everyone timed it so Jayk threw it at Kyle and everyone moved, Kyle didn't know what was happening but Jayk yelled his name and Kyle looked up just in time to catch the flying white thing coming toward him. He turned bright RED! Kyle swears he's never getting married but I've been looking into ordering a bride from Russia.... any thoughts?

My Picasso

I mentioned that Sydnee was chosen for her school district's art contest, but until I went to parent-teacher conference I didn't understand how awesome that honor was. Sydnee was the ONLY kid chosen from her Elementary School K-3 to be in the district art contest. The art was displayed in the district office and we were lucky enough that we had a lot of family in town this past weekend (My sister Kadi got married, which is a whole other post) AND it was my other sister Klair's birthday so we had a huge day out. We all went to see Sydnee's art and then out to lunch. Later that evening we had Kadi's rehearsal dinner. It was a crazy weekend!

My Mom always permed my hair when I was younger, and she's not known for knowing how to do hair, so a lot of the time I had short untamed frizzy hair. My nickname was Cornpuff, which I absolutely hated. As soon as I could straighten my hair I did and I still only wear my hair curly with extreme caution. Sydnee has had curly hair since she was little. But a few year ago the top layer started to become straight as it got longer. Not wanting to loose my baby's curls I had her hair permed on the top layer (I do her hair so it was ok) Well there are so many days where I'm at work and I can't do Sydnee's hair, and the longer it gets the straighter it is. Sydnee asked me last week if she could have straight hair like me cause she didn't like when it was frizzy. I can not let her have the same insecurities so I took her to my hair dresser and we had her hair relaxed. She looks so much older, she no longer looks like my little curly haired baby. Actually that night she was turned away from me and for a moment I thought (who is that kid?)

Something good....during the rehearsal, Beckham, the ring bearer walked down the aisle stopped at the bridesmaids and said "What's up ladies?" He's such a charmer!

Barnyard MOOOOsical

Last week was Sydnee's 1st grade play. It was called the Barnyard MOOOsical! All of the first graders were different animals and they sang songs. Sydnee was cast as a horse had a speaking role which she practiced over and over and over and over.....

"Cause we don't lock up anyone on our fun filled farm!"


Do you know how difficult it is to dress your child as a horse??? A pig, a cow... all easy! A horse?? It was a stretch but after some brainstorming and one last second inspiration at Hobby Lobby she was one super cute horse! (her words as she admired herself in the mirror)

My entire family forgot the video cameras but Ryan was nice enough to ask another parent with a camera if we could have a copy! I can't wait to see it again, it was so cute! I had an ear to ear grin watching her dancing and singing. I actually cried at the end, don't tell her though, she'll think I'm lame.

She's growing so fast, I feel like lately she has shot into being an older child. She's so tall, becoming so responsible... Alright I'm going to start crying again

Afterward we went and got ice cream which is a real treat for the lactose intolerant kids. Beckham was freezing outside eating his cotton candy ice cream with peanut butter cups, he chose it!

Her hair was in multiple ponytails to give her a mane, she had a felt saddle with stirrups and a tail and hooves! Not bad for a last second costume!

Growing

My camera has been acting up. It keeps freezing, not focusing...just giving me a huge headache! It's been an extension of my arm for years and now I actually cringe when I pick it up hoping it will function for me. Plus I still haven't found a good editing program since the loss of Picture It so I haven't been so picture happy lately.

But I have a new puppy, and possibly ANOTHER puppy coming too. (Don't ask, apparently I'm a sucker and I want Daisy to have a friend)

So trying to photograph Daisy all by myself was quite a challenge, she didn't want to sit still, she wanted to run over to me.

This dog is literally attached to my hip. She sleeps on my pillow, has come to work with me a few days... She is so completely spoiled. The kids adore her! Beckham never had any interest in Bella but he can't stop kissing and hugging Daisy.

She is the sweetest puppy, at 8 weeks old she is just so calm and sweet.



If I have the backdrop out and the camera I had to at least attempt some pics of the kids!

This picture almost makes me cry. She is so big! I actually was walking past the dress section and saw white baptism dresses and I had to wipe my eyes. I cannot believe she will be baptized this year. I just can't believe how big she is.



Look at Mr. Handsome! Can you see the giant bruise on his head? Right around the area where he split his head open when he was 2? He ran into the door with his head. Every time he bangs his head I cringe and flashback to imagining blood gushing from his head. But either way, he really is just as charming as he looks. He's a lover, and a gentleman, and he adores his Mommy.

But he also has to make sure he shows everyone his "musckules"

Something good...I'm going to AZ in April. Lissy is having a baby and I get to go for her birth! And play with my family and friends
